I read this book a while ago. A sad book and sad ending, indeed. It was lovely.
.
Imagine you are Bruno. You are REALLY bored, have nothing to do except study. No friends, and he wants entertainment. When he finds Shmuel, it is the BEST thing that has happened. A miracle!! He instantly becomes friends with Shmuel, and by that, Bruno and Shmuel both have fun together because they are lonely.
.
Now imagine you are Shmuel. Stuck in a prison. A prison where you get tortured and beaten up at least twice a day. Oatmeal with ants and bumblebees and dirt. Only a T-shirt (black and white) during the cold times. So boring. So terrifying. Yet no entertainment and no friends to escape to. But yet... he finds Bruno!! A MIRACLE happened!! There were kids his age on the other side of the fence!! He instantly becomes friends with Bruno, and because they both long for companionship and entertainment, they both have fun together, although they are separated by a fence.
.
Hope I helped!!

Federal judges are
Sloan [31]

Answer:

d) all of these: nominated by the president, confirmed by the U.S. Senate, and appointed for an indefinite period providing they maintain "good behavior."

Explanation:

Federal judges, who are the ones that are that preside over the Supreme Court proceedings and evaluate laws, are indeed nominated by the President, by the U.S. Senate, and appointed for an indefinite period providing they maintain "good behavior" or until they decide to retain, as Article II, Section 2 of the U.S. Constitution provides:

he (The President) shall nominate, and by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, shall appoint ambassadors, other public ministers and consuls, judges of the Supreme Court, and all other officers of the United States.

And as Article III, Section 1 of the U.S. Constitution states:

The judges, both of the supreme and inferior courts, shall hold their offices during good behavior

With this latter provision, the Constitution guarantees that judges make decisions and evaluate statutes according to what is right under the law, and not according to popular's opinion or political pressure. This way, judges don’t have to fear that they will be fired if they make an unpopular decision.

motikmotik

Researchers often use computers in their experiments to keep from influencing the participants and to keep themselves blind regarding the conditions to which the participants have been assigned.

Why is research blinding crucial?

Blinding is crucial to prevent bias (such as observer bias and demand characteristics) and guarantee the internal validity of a study.

Participants may alter their behavior in ways that affect the outcome that researchers are aiming to measure if they are aware of whether they are in a control or treatment group. If those providing the treatment are aware of the participants' assigned groups, they may treat them differently, which could either directly or indirectly affect the outcome.

Answer:

d. Object relations

Explanation:

Object relations are a form of psychoanalysis that differs significantly from the view of Sigmund Freud that individuals are driven by sexual and aggressive urges, implying instead that humans are driven mainly by the need for interaction with others to create connections.

Theorists of object relations emphasize the significance of early family relationships, mainly the relationship between mother and child, in the growth of personality.
