5. Contour interval of the map is 20m

6. Highest elevation of the map is 160m

7. Lowest elevation of the map is 20m

8. Distance between the top of the mountain and the depression is 9.5km approximately

Explanation:

Contours are the geographical lines representing a boundary or border of a place.

5) Contour interval of the map

We see that throughout the map contour lines are spaced at an interval of 20m E.g. 160,140,120,100 etc. Hence, the contour interval of the given map is 20m

6) The highest elevation of the map- Highest elevation of the map would be shown by contour lines of the highest order. Looking at the map we find that section” A” at the left-hand side is marked with 160m contour lines. Hence, the highest elevation is 160m

7) Lowest elevation for the depression- For lowest elevation, we have to look at the lowest contour lines. We see that maximum depth in the depression is marked by 20m contour lines. Hence the lowest elevation for the map is 20m

8) Kilometres from the top of the mountain to depression- For this, we need to calculate the distance between the mountain head and the depression. We can calculate the distance using a non-extendible nylon thread. Calculating it we get the distance of the thread as 9.5cm (approximately).

Since the scale of the map is 1 cm=1 km Hence the distance is 9.5km
