Stamp Act was an act which required people who purchased any printed material like newspaper to also purchase revenue stamps. Following the passing of this act, women formed The Daughters of Liberty organization to protests against the act since they were in charge of household good purchasing.  

The formed organization that was meant to show loyalty during the revolution comprised only of women with prominent members including George Washington's wife. This organization was formed after the Stamp Act was passed. Women instigated protests to avoid British supplies by making their own production of supplying soldiers with sewn uniforms, blankets, raising funds, etc.
