Write an equivalence chain with fraction that equals 1/2
alexgriva [62]
Hi.

An example of a fraction equivalence chain is this:

\frac{1}{2}, \frac{2}{4},  \frac{4}{8},  \frac{8}{16},  \frac{16}{32}

You can keep multiplying \frac{1}{2} by 2 to get a fraction chain.

Hope this helps!

Find the probability of rolling a sum of 6 with two dice?
34kurt

Answer: 5/36

Step-by-step explanation:

There are 3 ways to do this

Get a 1 and a 5

Get a 2 and a 4

Or get two 3's.

There are two ways to get a 1 and a 5

1 first and 5 second or

5 first and 1 second

The same goes for the 2 and the 4, but NOT for the two 3s.

We have 5 ways to get a sum of 6

What is the probability of one of them happening?

1/6 x 1/6 = 1/36

1/36 chance of one occuring

1/36 x 5 = 5/36 chance of getting a sum of 6 (as there are 5 ways to do so)
