In addition, the American revolution did not bring equality for women, nor freedom for blacks, these factors were later conquered.

However, many loyalists, supporters of British colonialism, were thrown out of the country by the thousands. These people were intellectual men and women with great economic power, who feared reprisals in the USA, since they had publicly declared support for England. This changed the composition of American society.
