Answer:

The highlighted area will experience a low-pressure system with four octas of cloud cover. Wind speeds will be between 48 and 52 knots coming from the South West. The L indicated the type of pressure and the pressure measured in mb on the map shows the reduction of the pressure towards the L. The circle half-shaded black indicated that the sky will have about 50% cloud cover. The wind bard indicated the direction the wind is blowing from and the triangle has a correlating speed. Also, this shaded area will likely experience rainfall.

They drive atmospheric circulation. The sun does not heat the earth evenly. The parts that are heated up more form the low-pressure systems where air masses move in from high-pressure systems to form winds. These air masses are also deflected by Coriolis effect caused by earth’s rotation.
