Not all media influence voters, but there are some which are extremely biased and send out a story that has happens but in an twisted way for example:

Josh pushed Carl, Carl didn't like it so he did it back.

The biased news or media would write that Carl bushed Joshua and only highlight one part of the whole story.

This is the thing that happens with politicians, biased media would send highlighted news about a politicians so people would vote for who the media wants people to vote for. Hope it helps!!!
