Answer:

Reflection is one of the main things.

Observation.

Explanation:

When we reflect on everything we do, from defining flavors while eating dinner to observing a child misbehave to his parents, we automatically start developing mindfulness. This allows us to be more conscious of everything we do, think and provide. In this context, reflecting is something we might do directly or indirectly; however, we do it every day in some way. So reflecting is one everyday thing in your life that might provide real poignant ideas for a story; as a reflective thinker, you have a broader picture of the world and of every single detail that happen in it. Observe everything that surrounds you and star reflecting on everything, you'll see how your writing changes and how easy you'll start getting your own poignant ideas.

Creative writing- everyday things in life that might provide poignant ideas for a story:

Creative Writing rises above the normal . Unhindered by the set limits to an extent , it keeps imagination and ideas supreme and survives on the food of thought. Richly abounding in the treasures of creativity , use of literary devices and often marked by poetic licence , it takes writing to a pleasurable realm.

A creative writer may get inspired by insignificant things or events in order to weave a tale. For instance, a flash of lightning , or a burning candle may give birth to a new story.

Some everyday things in my life that may inspire poignant ideas for a story can be a lone rock standing on the sea shore witnessing all that may not be pleasant or a withering plant reminding me of old age sure to come . A tired traveler experiencing difficulty in continuing his journey further inspiring a story of a man burdened with trials and tribulations in life , an unattended chair in a public place or a room can weave a tale of misery and distress resulting out of no companionship.

How does being locked inside the house when she was younger affect the narrator's mother in Safety of Numbers? (Read paragraphs
True [87]

In Lucy Tan's Safety of Numbers, the narrator's mother, who was locked inside the house, lost her confidence in society and self-expression. Now, she has become rigid in raising her daughter.

Safety of Numbers

The devastating Tiananmen Square experience haunts Lucy Tan's mother. As one of the students who protested in Tiananmen Square, she realized that society does not care for the vulnerable and can force one to renounce their youth naivety. Could anyone expect the authorities to order the opening of fire on protesting students with no weapon other than their voices?

Thus, the fact that the narrator's mother was locked inside the house for a long duration shattered her confidence in society and reduced her self-expression.
