The anti-Chinese movement of the 19th and 20th century was created thanks to the idea that the Chinese immigrants were not integrating to the American society and that they drove wages down for the American worker. Thanks to this unions where a large factor in this conflict. This movement was so big, mostly in California, that it successfully restricted Chinese immigration into the US from 1880 until the 1940's

Why did the council of trent attack the church music of the renaissance?
MrMuchimi

The Church music of the Renaissance was attacked by the Council of Trent because of their use of secular music. Secular vocal music contains a lot of quick changes in mood than what they consider as holy music. The council also considered this type of music as an impurity to the Catholic Church, and so purification of the Church was the justification for those actions.

1. You have just been challenged with the question "Was Alexander great or not?" Your position is that Alexander was great, but
Svetlanka [38]
Alexander was great indeed. He managed to unite the entire Greece under his rule, and not only that, but he also vastly increased the size of his empire, covering almost entirely what was then the known world. Another great part about him was that he was not merciless towards his enemies and never imposed his religion or laws to anyone, but rather allowed different cultures to remain as they were, as long as they behaved properly and paid taxes and what not.

How are gains in civil rights achieved?
LUCKY_DIMON [66]
Most Civil Rights are achieved when the group does it peacefully, have a lot of people backing them up, and the cause seems right.

If the group uses violence, many people would think of it as an uprising instead of a group of people trying to get equality

hope this helps
