Nous sommes dans une société de surconsommation.
Les jeunes qui souffrent de troubles alimentaires sont en grande  souffrance psychologique,mauvaise estime de soi, mal dans leur peau, leur corps, la puberté est un cap difficile a passer, il faut accepter "ce nouveau" corps, sa transformation.
Ce sont des jeunes qui manquent de confiance en eux.
Ca peut être du au stress,un évènement traumatique durant l'enfance,la pression sociale ( on ne voit que des corps sveltes, dans les magazines, à la télévision) la culture actuelle basée sur la minceur, la beauté leur faisant croire que ce sont des signes extérieurs de succès, de bonheur.....
Ces jeunes sont en général très anxieux, angoissée.
