"A Day's Wait" is a short narrative that of a part of a person's life. In "A Day's Wait," Hemingway has chosen a day in the life of Schatz, who comes down with the flu and he mistakes how bad his temperature is. He basically was confusing the Fahrenheit and Celsius scales. He does recover but his dad found out that he cries "very easily at things that were of no importance." There's no conflict (other than Schatz worrying about dying), characterization or plot development.

Which sentence is correctly constructed with an independent clause and a dependent clause?
timurjin [86]
I'm not sure which sentences you are talking about but here are the definitions.

An independent clause is a group of words with a subject and a predicate. It expresses a complete thought and can stand alone as a sentence.

A dependent clause is a group of words with a subject and a verb. These clauses include adverb clauses, adjective clauses and noun clauses.
