Answer:

1. Wind bounces and rolls sand along the ground, a process called saltation.

2. Sediment carried by the wind will drop to the ground when the wind's velocity decreases.

3. The force of the wind pushes particles up the windward slope of the dune as it moves.

4. The force of gravity allows particles to slide down the leeward slope of a dune as it moves.

Explanation:

Saltation is the process which involves the movement of the particles by the force of wind or water. The wind or the water removes the particles and carry them forward. Materials like pebbles and stones get carried away by the flow of water. The large particles get settled in the river bed.

The answer is C. Sympatric Speciation via polyploidy

Explanation:

Among all various forms of speciation that exist, the most rapid is sympatric speciation which occurs when a population becomes separated in terms of reproductivity. The process of offsprings developing with more than the common number of chromosomes is referred to as sympatric speciation via polyploidy and it is this process that makes this speciation rapid.

In a humid continental climate region, to what conditions would plants and animals have to be adapted?
puteri [66]

In a region that has a humid continental climate, the animals and plants living there should have some specific adaptations in order for them to survive without any bigger problem in the environment.

The animals have thicker fur which is also waterproof, in order to keep them warm, and to not allow that they are wet and heavy because of the common rains. They also tend to develop and even thicker winter coat in order for them to survive the cold snowy winters.

The plants tend to shed their leafs in the autumn as they put themselves in a hibernation mode for the cold winter, and then grow them again in the spring for the vegetative season in the coming months. They tend to be plants that manage to consume large amounts of water, but also can restrict the amount of water, as the evaporation is not as high in this parts, so they have to limit the water in order to not over-saturate themselves.
