These were methods employed by the South to prevent Blacks
from voting. Many of these programs
often made it difficult for Blacks to register or vote since there were so many
things demanded on them. These methods either targeted their poverty or their
lack of education. Eventually the Federal government would institute reforms
against these tactics.
Technology has always been closely linked to the ways in which people have lived. Before the development of civilization, humans lived for many millennia with tools and techniques that allowed them to live successfully in a wide variety of environments.
