What was one reason William Becknell’s route to Mexico became popular?

Social Studies

sergey [27]3 years ago

One reason as to why William Becknell's route to Mexico became famous is that unlike the immigrant trails of California and Oregon, the route was a commercial trail with a lot of economic benefits that could be gained by trading with Mexican people.
Trade on the trail developed rapidly after William Becknell's three wagons reached Santa Fe in mid-1822. There was considerable demand of basic as well as luxury goods in Sana Fe, the end destination of the trail and this prompted traders to travel there to sell their goods.

What is the counterpart theodicy? what is one problem with the view?
kozerog [31]

A theodicy for some given fact about evil is an explanation for why God would have an all‐things‐considered sufficient reason to allow that evil. The counterpart theodicy relies on a metaphysical claim about existence. We cannot know what "good" is unless there is "evil" to contrast it with. (1) Doesn't justify all kinds of evil (Do we need genocide to know what goodness is?), (2) Doesn't justify the amount of evil (Do we need so much killing/theft to know what goodness is?), (3) God can know good/evil prior to creation/evil.

dalvyx [7]

Answer: Belief systems are a part of the environmental side of the coin. Humans accumulate thousands of beliefs throughout our lifetime, about all aspects of life. We gain them through things that other people say to us, things we hear on the news, things we read, or any other external influences that we are exposed to.
