Answer: It explains why Bob does not recognize his friend Jimmy when he talks to the policeman.

In the story, Bob walks along with the man who claims to be Jimmy for a while, and they even start to share experiences, before he realizes that man is not actually Jimmy. Bob only notices it when they step into an area that has better light and that allows him to examine the stranger's face more carefully.

The weather also has a secondary purpose, which is that of setting a sad, bleak tone to the story, foreshadowing a tragic ending.

Use the _______ _______ to keep your speech on track; it concisely states what your speech is trying to demonstrate.
balandron [24]

Correct method:

The gestures should be used to keep your speech on track; it concisely states what your speech is trying to demonstrate.

More about gestures:

Gestures mean using a body movement, probably a hand or a head, to express something beyond words. Gestures are an important part of a speech, they help in a broad understanding of what the speaker wants to convey. If the speaker does not use body movement and simply speaks everything in one go, the listener gradually starts losing interest and the session will become boring. Therefore, it is advised to use gestures and add humorous content in a speech to make listeners associated. It also helps to win an edge over the competitors.
