The issue with classical music is the ignorance of how it sounds. The music industry doesn't do promo of instrumental, for many years and nowadays too it was considered an elite style, only a few people had the option to attended a concert. People don’t hate it, they are not familiarized unless there is a musician in the family.
Based on my perspective, I think it's false because commonly, people have a negative opinion about classical music because they think it's boring, like it's not modern. Like, for instance, now and day people listen to hip hop an rap not classics. I hope this helps :)
