Cognitive flexibility is the ability of mind to switch between tasks and thinking of multiple concepts simultaneously. The cognitive flexibility is a part of the executive functioning and higher order cognition that involves the ability of control in thoughts and includes other aspects of cognition such as inhibition or inhibitory control relating to the prefrontal cortex. The cognitive ability and better inhibitory control are related to fluid intelligence and higher levels of dynamic integration of several brain functions in multiple regions of the brain .

Higher cognitive flexibility and better inhibitory control both demand for higher levels of thoughts.

Answer:

Cognitive flexibility and better inhibitory control are linked to higher levels of dynamic integration of various brain functions into multiple regions of the brain.

Explanation:

Cognitive flexibility is the ability we have to "think outside the box", think of different strategies to reach the same goal. It is a skill we use for everything, including our daily lives. On the other hand, inhibitory control is the ability to inhibit or control impulsive (or automatic) responses and to create replicas using attention and reasoning. These cognitive abilities are two of our executive functions and contribute to anticipation, planning, and goal setting.

These two abilities are linked and acting together as several brain functions are working in multiple regions of the brain at the same time.

How has the study of mitosis affected scientists' knowledge of cancer
Mekhanik [1.2K]
The oncogenesis process is caused by these mutations in the genetic material of normal cells, which alter the normal balance between proliferation and cell death. As a result there is an uncontrolled cell division and an evolutionary process of these cells through natural selection within the organism. Rapid and uncontrolled reproduction of cells can produce benign tumors and some types of these tumors can become malignant, which is what is known as cancer. Benign tumors do not spread to distant parts of the body or invade other tissues, and usually do not pose a threat to life unless they compress vital structures or have some physiological activity (for example, that they are capable of producing a hormone) . Malignant tumors are able to invade other organs, spread to distant places (a process known as metastasis) and become a threat to life.

Which of the following statements accurately describes specific bacterial cell walls? View Available Hint(s) Which of the follow
svetoff [14.1K]

Answer:

In gram-negative bacteria, the thin layer of peptidoglycan is surrounded by an outer membrane made of phospholipids, lipopolysaccharides, and proteins. This statement accurately describes specific bacterial cell walls.

Explanation:

The Gram- negative bacteria constitute of an outer membrane which is richly made up of lipopolysaccharides, phopholipids and proteins. The lipopolysaccharides function mainly as a virulence factor and are involved in causing variety of diseases in animals.

Gram- negative bacteria can be seperated from gram- positive bacteria mainly because of the thickness of peptidoglycan and by the presence of the outer membrane of Gram- negative bacteria. The outer membrane is absent in Gram- positive bacteria.
