So right now it is telling you that out of 60 books, 24 are nonfiction. Therefore that is 24/60. 40% of 60 is 24 so that means the other 60% is nonfiction. Hope this isn't confusing and it helps.

A yard in the shape of a square measures a ft on each side. A flower bed is dug up in the shape of a triangle with a/4 ft height
marin [14]

Answer:

A_X=\frac{15x^2}{16}

Step-by-step explanation:

From the question we are told that:

Base of Flower bed b=\frac{x}{2}

Height of Flower bed h=\frac{x}{4}

Generally the equation for Area of garden left A_X is mathematically given by

 A_X=Area\ of\ Garden\ A_g\ - Area\ of\ flower\ bed\ A_f

Where

 A_f=b*h

 A_f=\frac{1}{2}*\frac{x}{2}*\frac{x}{4}

 A_f=\frac{x^2}{16}

Therefore

 A_X= A_g - A_f

 A_X=x^2-\frac{x^2}{16}

 A_X=\frac{15x^2}{16}
