Large racial and gender wage gaps still remain these days in the U.S., even as they have narrowed throughout its history and significant advancements towards equality have been made beginning mostly in the early 1900. Despite this progress, gender inequality in the United States continues to persist in many forms, including the disparity in women's political representation and participation, occupational segregation, the gender pay gap, and the unequal distribution of household labor.

There are also vast differences in Racial equality in the United States if we refer to social advantages and disparities that affect different races within the United States. These inequities may be manifested in the distribution of wealth, power, and life opportunities afforded to people based on their race or ethnicity, both historic and modern.

There are some other social inequalities such as:

1. Political Inequality: The inequality in which there is no civic equality in front of the law.

2. Income and Wealth Inequality: It is the outcome or result which is primarily in the earnings of individuals.

3. Life Inequality: This refers to inequalities of opportunities if provided can improve the quality of life.

4. Inequality of Treatment and Responsibility: Although this idea is less examined but it generates problems in agency and responsibility.

5. Inequality of Membership: This exists in the membership of faith, family and nation.

There are plenty of ways to reduce the problem of social inequality at now days. Here are some of them:

1. Ensure that high quality healthcare services are available and affordable for all.

2. Tackle the problem of polarized wages. The average real wages are falling but the executive pays are increasing.

3. Along with better jobs, training opportunities should be provided too for developing new skills.

4. More and more job opportunities should be created throughout the country for all.

5. Fair taxes should be levied. Relief must be provided to the low-income group.

6. Increase the opportunities to people of average social level to get industrial credits so they can create employment and wealth.
