An increase in carbon in the atmosphere would likely be due to increased carbon dioxide gas resulting mainly from the burning of fossil fuels plus deforestation results in global warming. Global warming is causing glaciers to melt including both alpine glaciers like those in BC Canada and also continental glaciers like the ones in say, Greenland and Antarctica. The melting of glaciers will cause a rise in sea levels which can result in low-lying areas like the coast of North Carolina being inundated.

Explain how a country can lessen its mortality rate.
Deffense [45]

Answer:

A feature of the reduction in death rates has been the increased excess mortality of males. There have also been big and rapid reductions in death rates in many developing countries, even in the absence of important improvements in living standards. Antibiotics and insecticides have made a major contribution to this movement in the last twenty years. It is unlikely that death rates will fall as rapidly in the next few decades as in the recent past in either developed or developing countries.

Choose the 2 reasons some atoms are radioactive. a. the number of additional neutrons of an isotope is too large b. the nucleus
uranmaximum [27]

Answer:

The correct options are: a. the number of additional neutrons of an isotope is too large; d. the number of additional neutrons of an isotope is too small

Explanation:

The chemical elements that have the same number of protons in the nucleus but different number of neutrons are known as isotopes. Isotopes can be stable or unstable.

The isotope having an unstable nucleus, due to the presence of additional neutrons in the nucleus of the atom, is known as a radioisotope.

Also, chemical elements that have atomic number greater than 83 have unstable nuclei and thus they are called radioisotopes.
