What characterizes this poem as a work from the age of reason? To views far distant and to scenes more bright, Along the vale of

Time extend thy sight, Where hours and days and years from yon dim pole, Wave following wave in long succession roll, There see, in pomp for ages without end, The glories of the Western World ascend. See, this blest land in orient morn appears, Waked from the slumber of six thousand years, While clouds of darkness veil'd each cheering ray; To savage beasts and savage men, a prey. Fair Freedom now her ensigns bright displays, And peace and plenty bless the golden days. In radiant state th' imperial realm shall rise, Her splendor circling to the boundless skies; Of every Fair she boasts the assembled charms, The Queen of empires and the nurse of arms.

Salva’s character is developing as the story progresses. What is one thing about Salva’s character that you think is changing?
cupoosta [38]
Um I don’t know how far you’ve gotten, so yeah.

Salvas character is starting to change, he’s becoming mentally stronger, he’s becoming more brave. He has to be more tougher now that the only 2 people he had during this trip are gone. He became a leader, he led and helped others, while still keeping himself alive.

Helen [10]

Answer:

Mr. Henderson is a very cynical person and is quick to criticize others, especially women. He has no idea about the amount of work that needs to be done on a farm, yet he quickly forms an opinion about Minnie Wright's housekeeping skills. This opinion is evident in the following exchange with Mrs. Hale:

COUNTY ATTORNEY: Dirty towels! (kicks his foot against the pans under the sink) Not much of a housekeeper, would you say, ladies?

MRS HALE: (stiffly) There's a great deal of work to be done on a farm.

COUNTY ATTORNEY: To be sure. And yet (with a little bow to her) I know there are some Dickson county farmhouses which do not have such roller towels. (He gives it a pull to expose its length again.)
