Devotio Moderna, or Modern Devotion<span>, was a movement for religious reform, calling for apostolic renewal through the rediscovery of genuine pious practices such as humility, obedience and simplicity of life.</span>
In the wake of King's assassination in 1968 riots broke out in more than one hundred cities across the United States as people grieved; James Earl Ray assassinated Martin Luther King Jr. on April 4th 1968, when King had come to Memphis in support of a labor strike.
The cotton gin was an important invention because b) it inadvertently led to the spread of slavery. This was because the demand for cotton grew even more, due to the cotton gin being produced in masses. The cotton gin is "a machine that quickly and easily separates cotton fibers from their seeds, allowing for much greater productivity than manual cotton separation."
The reforms that was done the Chinese government after the death of Mao was that, they permitted property and other reforms of the economy, as well as some features of free markets. What they did not allow was extension of political freedoms or democratic rights.
