Perceptual set: A perceptual set is defined as an individual's predisposition to perceive different things in a specific way. It is also referred to as a perceptual expectancy. It influences an individual's perception in various ways. Each experiences different perceptual set because they have experienced different things differently in life including beliefs, memories, etc.
In other words, a person tends to notice only a few specific things or aspects of a situation or an object whereas ignoring all other aspects.
