Answer:

sin⁴x - sin²x = cos⁴x - cos²x

Solve the right hand side of the equation

That's

sin⁴x - sin²x

From trigonometric identities

sin²x = 1 - cos²x

So we have

sin⁴x - ( 1 - cos²x)

sin⁴x - 1 + cos²x

sin⁴x = ( sin²x)(sin²x)

That is

( sin²x)(sin²x)

So we have

( 1 - cos²x)(1 - cos²x) - 1 + cos²x

Expand

1 - cos²x - cos²x + cos⁴x - 1 + cos²x

1 - 2cos²x + cos⁴x - 1 + cos²x

Group like terms

That's

cos⁴x - 2cos²x + cos²x + 1 - 1

Simplify

We have the final answer as

cos⁴x - cos²x

So we have

cos⁴x - cos²x = cos⁴x - cos²x

Since the right hand side is equal to the left hand side the identity is true

Hope this helps you

The cost of (x-5)apples is Rs.(x^2 -9x +20).What is the cost of one apple.
Romashka [77]

Answer:

x - 4

Step-by-step explanation:

divide the cost of (x - 5) apples by x - 5, that is

\frac{x^2-9x+20}{x-5}

= \frac{(x-5)(x-4)}{x-5} ← factor numerator

cancel the factor (x - 5) on numerator/denominator

cost of 1 apple = x - 4

I am thinking of two different numbers. the difference of the two numbers is 36. there sum is 286
Mrac [35]
Okay so
x + y = 286
x - y = 36
286+36=322
divide 322/2 = 161
161 - 36 = 125
The two numbers are 161+125=286
