Sets of dance-inspired instrumental movements are called suite. The suite is known as an important musical dance form during the Renaissance and Baroque period.
EXPLANATION:
The suite is a series of dance which was very popular during the Renaissance and Baroque era. This dance was organized with a contrasting tempo and contrasting signatures. The movements in this dance are so soft and short pieces that function as dance. During the Baroque era, the suite was known as a popular musical form named Suite de Danses, Partita or Ouverture, and Odre.
In the past, the suite is categorized as classical music and jazz in the Western. During the 14th century, this dance was performed in the form of five dances, pairing as a dance tune. Yet, in the 17th-century suite was performed with a prelude. This dance’s movements were often tonally and thematically linked. The movements itself were often referred to similar musical traditions such as nuubaat, Arab waslah, and Turkish fasil.
Later, in the 19th century, the suite fell out into cyclical form, giving way to the concerto, symphony, and sonata. The suite was revived in that era, becoming into a different form from it was in the past. In the 19th-century, suite took form into extracts from a ballet, incidental music, film, opera, and video game.
