The signers of the Mayflower Compact had signed the treaty to ensure that there will be peace between the Saints and the Strangers. The Mayflower Voyage is a journey that is set-up by the Pilgrims from Great Britain. These Pilgrims fled the country to avoid persecution against the Anglican Church of England. However, not all of the pilgrims are strangers. Many of them are also saints(or religious clergies). These saints wanted to live a better life. They hope that they would find this life in the New World.  Because of these two opposing groups, the signers of the contract had brought this out to ensure the peace amongst the pilgrims and to establish a government that would keep the peace and order in their new colony.

4. What is the best definition of total war?
Dennis_Churaev [7]

Answer:

D. A military strategy that destroys the enemy completely

Explanation:

Total war completely destroys the enemy because it is unrestricted, extremely violent, and very dangerous.

When a total war strategy is used, a country will use any weapons they can to defeat the enemy.

The laws of war may also be ignored, causing extra damage to civilians and infrastructure.

So, the correct answer is D. A military strategy that destroys the enemy completely.

Explain knowledge of the Texas Revolution from historical events to learned concepts.
Kay [80]

Answer:

Texas Revolution, also called War of Texas Independence, war fought from October 1835 to April 1836 between Mexico and Texas colonists that resulted in Texas’s independence from Mexico and the founding of the Republic of Texas (1836–45). Although the Texas Revolution was bookended by the Battles of Gonzales and San Jacinto, armed conflict and political turmoil that pitted Texians (Anglo-American settlers of the Mexican state of Coahuila and Texas) and Tejanos (Texans of mixed Mexican and Indian descent) against the forces of the Mexican government had occurred intermittently since at least 1826.
