Co2 diffuses into red blood cells down their concentration gradient. Here, the co2 reacts with water in the cytoplasm of the red blood cell with the help of the enzyme carbonic anhydrase to make carbonic acid (H2CO3). The carbonic acid then dissociates into H+ and hydrogen carbonate ions. The H+ ions binds with R-groups in haemoglobin in the red blood cell to make the compound carbaminohaemoglobin. The hydrogen carbonate ions leave the red blood cell and diffuse into the blood plasma whilst chloride ions move into the red blood cell (chloride shift) to maintain electrochemical balance.

Ik it's a lot but I hope it helped. I have a biology exam tomorrow and I also need to remember this haha

Once amylase has broken down starch, can it break down another starch molecule?
Juliette [100K]

Answer:

Yes, amylase can be reused, and when fulfills its catalytic function, it is free to catalyze the breakdown of another starch molecule.

Explanation:

Amylase is an enzyme capable of catalyzing the breakdown of starch bonds, separating it into glucose molecules.

The enzymes, including amylase, have the property of being free and without structural alteration when catalyzing a reaction, to bind to the specific substrate and catalyze a new reaction.

Amylase is not consumed, unlike a reagent, so it can be reused in new reactions.

Answer:

40 in tail and 20 in egg cells.

Explanation:

If a horse has 40 chromosomes in its heart cells so there will be 40 number of chromosomes in its tail cells and 20 number of chromosomes in its egg cells because tail is also a part of body where mitosis type of cell division occurs means there is diploid number of chromosomes, while on the other hand, egg cells are the reproductive part where meiosis type of cell division occur in which haploid number of chromosomes are present.
