Hernandez v. Texas was a case that led to the enactment of a landmark decision by the US Supreme Court in 1954. It dealt with the rights for Mexican-Americans.

The court established that the equal protection clause, that was included in the 14th Amendment to the US Consitution and guaranteed equality of rights for all US citizens, should apply to Mexican Americans as well as to other nationality groups in the US.

After the japanese attacked the city of nanking, the chinese ordered a ceasefire and tried to make negotiations but they didn't make it in time.  The japenese continued for several more days beating back sporadic resistance from the Chinese.
