HELP!!! 100 POINTS PLUS BRAINLIEST: The United States and the Soviet union became superpowers and completed for global influence
Elina [12.6K]

The Berlin Airlift was a major effort, primarily but not exclusively by the British, to maintain supply lines to West Berlin when the USSR refused to let supplies be delivered by road, rail, or ship. It continued for 11 months before the USSR backed down and allowed normal import of supplies to the city again. This was a victory for capitalism, as the cooperation between capitalist countries allowed West Berlin to resist the USSR's demands. It also prevented the USSR from controlling the entirety of Berlin, which would have likely led to a communist Germany and thus left capitalist Europe one nation poorer.
