Im not really on either side but one thing to go against it is because according to a senator. The senator called it a violation of civil liberties.
Immigrants come here in order to either escape the cruelty of the country they were in. Or in order to "escape" poverty and try to start fresh here in order to take care of there family or to bring themselves a better life
