1. You can first give an introduction sentence (a hook that would get the reader to be interested when reading this).

2. Make some long sentences in the middle of your paragraph and expand that sentences a little bit and don't say everything you need to say in a couple of sentences.

3. Put down a conclusion sentence that concludes what you said in the middle of your paragraph.

These steps should help you succeed in writing your eight sentence paragraph.

Your welcome. :)

Drunk driving is something in the world that should be stopped. Drunk driving should be stopped because it endangers many lives and it is illegal. When people are driving under the influence they are risking their lives and whomever else's lives who are on the road with them. When someone is drunk, their vision goes blurry and their brain doesn't function as well. If someone can't see, they may not know another car is coming and it can cause a collision. Another reason why it should be stopped is because it is illegal. Someone who is driving under the influence is risking getting pulled over and getting arrested. It is against the law because it is so dangerous. Drunk driving should be stopped because it endangers many lives and it is illegal. I really hope this helped!! :)

Describe what made the terrain around Nome perilous? How did this contribute to the heroism of the dog teams?
katen-ka-za [31]

This question is incomplete. Here's the complete question.

Based on the 1925 serum run to Nome

Describe what made the terrain around Nome perilous? How did this contribute to the heroism of the dog teams?

Answer:

Located in the Alaskan tundra, the route to Nome crossed a 5000-foot mountain peak and the unstable ice of Norton Sound, ill-famed for breaking under pressure. Furthermore, the sea was frozen for seven months during the winter, meaning that dog sleds were the only way of transportation at the time. In addition to that, the “Great Race of Mercy” happened in the middle of a great storm.

Explanation:

All of these elements made the five days journey to get the serum required to save Nome (which should have taken a month) that much more heroic.

3. The author worries about the dog's lifetime, travel hassle, reach, and strength.

4. The author's ideal dog is one that lives long, is easy to take places, can't reach up on countertops, and is not strong enough to pull during walks.

"And he lost his mind in consequence?"
alexdok [17]

Answer: B) as a result

Explanation:

The meaning of the phrase "in consequence" is "as a result."

If something happens first, and something else happens afterwards in consequence, it happens as a result of the first event.

In this particular example, a man has lost his mind because of an event that is not mentioned, and has not been sane since then. His insanity is, therefore, a result (or a consequence) of that event. We can assume that the person described a traumatic event that the man experienced, and the other person replied with a question: "And he lost his mind in consequence?"

Which statement, if added to the passage, would BEST support the idea that insects are dangerous?
zhenek [66]

Answer:

I can't see the statements so I can't give a definite answer. However, think of it this way: We know the statement needs to add to the idea that insects are dangerous. So you need to chose the option that presents insects in a negative light or gives a specific reason to fear them. A neutral or positive fact about insects would not support the idea.

What is Lincoln’s use of figurative language in the gettysburg address?
In-s [12.5K]

1. “The Gettysburg Address” by Abraham Lincoln is remarkable through the use of rhetorical devices like allusion, antithesis, and tricolon.

2.This is a simile because MLK Jr. is comparing Justice rolling down LIKE water. He is also comparing righteousness like a mighty stream.

The impact of figurative language is to show the idea that everyone should be free.

The figurative language gives visual picture on what desegregation would look like.

Figurative Language in Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Speech

"Let Freedom Ring"

"Let freedom ring" is a repetition because "Let freedom ring" is repeated throughout the speech.

In Loving Memory:

This means that Justice will be like a mighty stream and will be everywhere.

"Let Freedom Ring" means let freedom be everywhere.
