For this case we must factor.

Numerator:

2x ^ 2 + 13x + 20

We must change the term of the medium by the sum of two numbers that when multiplied give as result (2) (20) = 40, and when summed give as result +13.

These numbers are: 5 and 8

(5) (8) = 40\\5 + 8 = 13

So:

2x ^ 2 + 8x + 5x + 20

We take common factor on both sides:

2x (x + 4) +5 (x + 4)\\(2x + 5) (x + 4)

So, 2x ^ 2 + 13x + 20 = (2x + 5) (x + 4)

Denominator:

x ^ 2-5x-36

We should look for two numbers that multiplied give -36 and added as a result -5.

-9 and +4

Thus, x ^ 2-5x-36 = (x-9) (x + 4)

Then, \frac {2x ^ 2 + 13x + 20} {x ^ 2-5x-36} =

\frac {(2x + 5) (x + 4)} {(x-9) (x + 4)} =\\\frac {(2x + 5)} {(x-9)} =

Answer:

\frac {(2x + 5)} {(x-9)}

PLSSS HURRY ILL GIVE YOU A BRAINLYEST
8090 [49]

Answer:

36 inches

Step-by-step explanation:

lets think of it as a ratio,

80:w

20:9

so we want 20 to get to 80

and 9 to get to w right?

so if we just move the smaller rectangle to the corner, then 20*4=80 right?

and if we do that, we do it to 9 as well, 9*4=36

w=36

The fish population of Lake Collins is decreasing at a rate of 5% per year. In 2004 there were about 1,350 fish. Write an expone
ad-work [718]

Answer:

Part 1) The exponential function is equal to y=1,350(0.95)^{x}

Part 2) The population in 2010 was  992\ fish

Step-by-step explanation:

Part 1) Write an exponential decay function that models this situation

we know that

In this problem we have a exponential function of the form

y=a(b)^{x}

where

y ----> the fish population of Lake Collins since 2004

x ----> the time in years

a is the initial value

b is the base

we have

a=1,350\ fish

b=(100\%-5\%)=95\%=0.95

substitute

y=1,350(0.95)^{x} ----> exponential function that represent this scenario

Part 2) Find the population in 2010

we have

y=1,350(0.95)^{x}

so

For x=(2010-2004)=6\ years

substitute

y=1,350(0.95)^{6}=992\ fish
