An article titled "one mother, one father, two children = four families" would most likely have been written from a social construction theoretical perspective. A family is considered a
lynchpin of togertherness, civilization and order and the embodiment of a
healthy society. There are many ways to improve equal power relations between
parents. One is that they should understand their differences and the role they
play in the family. And two, a deeper understanding and trust must coexist
between the parents’ relationship.<span> </span>

Manifest Destiny was a popular nineteenth century belief of American settlers wherein they were ordained by God to prosper and expand from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean acquiring as much land as possible.
<span>Even though African Americans were now free after the Civil
War, they faced more obstacles. Though they were given the right to vote and
some were even elected into government positions in the South, a violent
backlash by whites reversed the reforms that were made and this resulted in the
restoration of white supremacy in the South.
Harassment from groups such as the Klu Klux Klan kept African Americans
from exercising their rights and they
were looked upon as inferior by whites. It would take another 100 years before
African Americans could attain equality.</span>
