A recipe for apple oat muffins calls for 4 4/5 cups of old fashion oats. You are making 2 1/2 of the recipe. How much oats should you use?

4 4/5 turns into improper fraction which is 24/5
2 1/2 turns into improper fraction which is 5/2

24/5 x 5/2= 120/10

Then you simplify 120/10 by multiplying the numerator and denominator by 10 which becomes 12/1 which equals to 12

So the product (answer) is 12

Q # 6 please multiply help
Mkey [24]
This is a problem of Difference-of-squares. We know that for a difference of squares a^2-b^2 the factorization is given by:

(a-b)(a+b)

To learn this you need to remember that a difference means subtraction. So applying those concepts we can solve this problem step by step.

Applying distributive property:

(2n)(2n-2)+2(2n-2)

Applying distributive property again:

4n^2-4n+4n+4

Simplifying:

4n^2-4

The correct answer is C

Howard downloaded 6 more songs Latham Erin. Lee downloaded 3 more than Howard. Lee downloaded 16 songs. How many songs did Erin
diamong [38]
If Lee downloaded 3 more songs than Howard (16 total songs), that means that Howard downloaded 13 songs (total). If Howard downloaded 13 songs, he downloaded 6 more than Erin. Therefore, you would subtract 6 from 13 to get 7.

Answer: Erin downloaded 7 songs

Solve the linear equation 29 - 3x = 5x + 5
steposvetlana [31]

Answer:

x = 3

Step-by-step explanation:

29 - 3x = 5x + 5

You want to have the variable of x on one side of the equation, so add 3x to both sides.

29 = 8x + 5

You want to isolate the variable of x, so subtract 5 from both sides.

24 = 8x

You want the variable x on its own, so divide both sides by 8.

3 = x

Check your answer by plugging x back into the original equation.

29 - 3(3) = 5(3) + 5

Solve.

29 - 9 = 15 + 5

20 = 20

Your answer is correct!
