Good paintings may use all composition, facial expressions, gesture, and color, but in some art, one of these tools may appear to be far more prominent than other expressive techniques. It depends on the painting when it comes to determining which tools are used most prominently. Old Movies served as the inspiration for Cindy Sherman's untitled film stills series.
These retro and old movies are obviously shown in the black and white images as well as the look deriving from 1950s-1980s films.
Matisse studied law from 1887 to 1891 before deciding to go to Paris France to become a painter. He worked under Adolph William Bouguereau at the Académie Julian in Paris but left in 1892 to enter the studio of Gustave Moreau at the École de Beaux- Arts where he studied until 1897.
