C. The cost of 5 notebooks is less than the cost of 3 + a $2 pen.

Process of elimination:
The greater or less than sign is open towards 3x + 2.

Get rid of the ones that say 5x is greater .

So A. And D. Are not an option

Now you have to put the pieces together.

Answer B. Sounds right until you get to the “$2-off coupon”

In the equation above it says 3x PLUS 2.
$2 off means subtraction. So we automatically know C is the only other answer.

Find the length of the side not given when c is the hypotenuse and a and b are the legs. A=9 and C=13
love history [14]
Use the Pythagprean theorem:
c^2=a^2+b^2
We have:
a=9;\ c=13
Substitute:
9^2+b^2=13^2\\\\81+b^2=169\ \ \ |-81\\\\b^2=88\to b=\sqrt{88}\\\\b=\sqrt{4\cdot22}\\\\Answer:\ b=2\sqrt{22}\approx9.38

The expression 1.08s + 1.02b1.08s+1.02b predicts the end-of-year value of a financial portfolio where ss is the value of stocks
Marysya12 [62]

Answer:

$22350 is the predicted value of portfolio.

Step-by-step explanation:

The given expression is 1.08s + 1.02b1.08s + 1.02b which predicts the end of year value of a financial portfolio.Here s = value of stocks and b = value of bonds.

Now we have to calculate the value of a portfolio with s = $200 and b = $100

So we will put the values of s and b in the given expression to calculate the value portfolio.

1.08×200 +1.02×(100)×1.08×(200)+ 1.02×(100) = 216 + 22032 + 102

= $22350

The predicted end to end year value of portfolio is = $22350

17. Mike has $50 more than Kemone has. Together they have $730. How much does Kemone have?
kakasveta [241]

Answer:

340

Step-by-step explanation:

$730 - $50 = $680

$680 / 2 = 340

they both have an equal of 340 and then mike adds in 50 more so:

340 + 340 = 680 + mike's $50 = $730.

Because the lid of a marker is wider than the marker itself, a set of markers can be packaged in a container that is in the shap
Tanzania [10]

Answer:

The difference in area between the trapezoid and the rectangle is 10 in²

Step-by-step explanation:

The dimensions of the trapezoid are given as follows;

Base 1, a = 12 in

Base 2, b = 10 in

Height, h = 10 in

Area, A of trapezoid;

A = \frac{a+b}{2} h = \frac{10+12}{2} 10 = 110 in^2

The dimensions of the rectangle are given as follows;

Base = 12 in

Height = 10 in

Area, A of rectangle;

Base × Height = 12 × 10 = 120 in^2

Therefore, the difference in area between the two packages is found as follows;

Difference in area between trapezoid and rectangle = 120 - 110 = 10 in²

The difference in area between the trapezoid and the rectangle = 10 in².
