Zheng He was an explorer, diplomat, and mariner during Ming dynasty in China. During his life he lead multiple expeditionary voyages that included voyages to different parts of Asia (India, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Arabia) and the East of Africa during the 15th century, these expeditions were made in treasure ships, that were large wooden ships in which more than 500 people could travel as well as multiple smaller ships, because of this Zheng He is also remembered by the huge fleets he involved in each expedition. In Africa Zheng He visited the horn of Africa and took ostriches, ivory, zebras, among others to China from the Swahili coast in Southeast Africa, also, his sailing maps help Ming dynasty to expand the knowledge on the Asian and African coast and these expeditions were the beginning of trade with Africa and Asia. Due to this, Zheng He traveled as far as Africa on this trade missions.
