In this excerpt from "Animal Farm", by George Orwell, the effects of Snowball and Napoleon's disagreement are <em>The dogs chase Snowball off the farm</em>, <em>Napoleon takes over as leader of the farm</em>. Snowball makes his point about the importance of building the windmill, as he is passionate he succeeds in gaining the other animals' support. But Napoleon uses his nine attack dogs (his military force), to take over as leader of the farm.
