Los Alamos laboratory was the place where these first nuclear bombs were designed under the supervision of Nuclear Physicist who was also the director of this project. This project was initiated in the year 1939 with a slow start but quickly took off pace and more than 130000 people were employed just for this project and this project cost nearly around 2 Billion dollars of that time and the majority of these costs were spent on building factories and produce fissile material. <u>The research production of this project took place in more than 30 sites across the United States along with Canada and the United Kingdom.</u> Under this project, two types of nuclear weapons were made. One was simple gun-type fission whereas the second bomb was more complex as it had implosion-type of a nuclear weapon. <u>The Manhattan Project was a large project that employed many people at several sites across the United States</u>.
