Medicine

Answer:

ADH(antidiuretic hormone) is a hormone which is secreted by the hypothalamus gland and stored in the pituitary gland. It regulates the amount of reabsorption of water by the kidney into the blood by controlling the permeability of late distal convoluted tubule and collecting duct.

When a high level of ADH is present in the blood it binds to these tubular section and make them permeable to water. This change in permeability helps in reabsorption of water in the blood and results in concentrated urine.

When ADH is absent in blood then these section of nephron remains impermeable to water and results in diluted urine.

The nurse conducts telephone screenings with several clients who are scheduled for CT scan of the abdomen with oral contrast. Th
Shalnov [3]

The nurse should notify the health care provider about Client with a history of stroke who has dysphagia and is drooling.

Why is an oral contrast performed?

 • Oral contrast increases the visibility and helps in detailed analysis of the Gastrointestinal (GI) structures on CT scan.
 • Computed Tomography (CT) scan is a test that combines X-rays and computer scans.
 • Oral contrast helps to opacify the bowel and helps to get better images of the abdomen for diagnosis.
 • It makes specific organs to stand out (GI tract) thus for better detection of a disease or an injury.
 • Commonly used contrast agents in CT imaging are based on barium and iodine.
 • Therefore, the nurse should check first if a patient has iodine allergy.
 • Also the nurse should check if any patient has difficulty in swallowing the contrast or his own drool (Dysphagia) as it can be the symptom of a stroke.

Each of the following must be disclosed to the patient before obtaining informed consent for dental radiographs except one. Whic
KatRina [158]

The rights of the patient as the owner of the images are the exception to the patient before obtaining informed consent for dental radiographs.

Dental radiographs,
sometimes known as x-rays, are a crucial component of your dental care. They give your dentist a fuller picture of what's going on in your mouth than an oral examination alone.

Your dentist can detect diseases and developmental disorders using dental radiographs before they worsen. Early injury or infection discovery can help restrict or stop subsequent harm to other oral sites. Your dentist may be informed of changes in your hard and soft tissues through dental radiographs. Radiographs in youngsters enable the dentist to monitor the growth of the jawbone and teeth. Dental radiographs, like medical radiographs, let your dentist assess any facial and oral injuries you may have.
