Answer:

(x-1)^2+(y+2)^2=25.

Step-by-step explanation:

If the center of the circle is (1,-2) and the circle passes through the point (4,2), then the radius of the circle is

r=\sqrt{(1-4)^2+(-2-2)^2}=\sqrt{9+16}=5.

The equation of the circle with center (x_0,y_0) and radius r is

(x-x_0)^2+(y-y_0)^2=r^2.

In your case, the equation is

(x-1)^2+(y+2)^2=25.

Answer:

(x-1)²+ (y+2)² = 25 is the equation of circle.

Step-by-step explanation:

We have given the center (1,-2) and a point P (4,2) from which the circle is passes.

So, the radius of the circle is :

r = \sqrt{(4-1)^{2}+(2-(-2))^{2}}=\sqrt{25}=5

The equation of circle is :

(x - x₁)² +(y - y₁)² = r²     where (x₁,y₁) is the center of circle.

Putting the value in above equation we get,

(x-1)²+(y-(-2))² = (5)²

(x-1)²+ (y+2)² = 25 is the equation of circle.

Eight out of 21 instruments in the band are wood winds. if there are 63 instruments in the band, how many more are not wood wind
egoroff_w [7]
Im assuming it would be 60 or 60.375(Work below)

Because usually when it says "out of" it means divide so i divided 8 from 21 and got 2.625 so then i took the 63 and subtracted 2.625 from that and got  60.375 so its either 60 or 60.375 again im not sure if im wrong im very sorry.

What is the domain and range for the following function and its inverse? f(x) = -x + 5
iren2701 [21]

Answer:

Domain: \mathbb{R}

Inverse: f^{-1}(x) = -x + 5

Step-by-step explanation:

Since this is a linear function, the domain and range is simply the set of real numbers.

The inverse is obtain by switching the places of x and y, then solving for y.

Here,

y = -x + 5

So switching x and y,

x = -y + 5

Solving for y again,

y = -x + 5

Thus,

f^{-1}(x) = -x + 5

GRAVITY The height above the ground of a ball thrown up with a velocity of 96 feet per second from a height of 6 feet is 6+96t-1
Nata [24]
Here the time function is h(t) = [6 + 96t - 16t^2] feet.

The initial height of the ball is 6 feet.  That's when t=0.  h(0)=[6+0-0] ft = 6 ft.

At t=7 sec, h(t) = [6 + 96t - 16t^2] feet becomes
       h(7 sec) = h(t) = [6 + 96(7) - 16(7)^2] feet       This produces a large negative number (-106 ft), which in theory indicates that the ball has fallen to earth and burrowed 106 feet into the soil.  Doesn't make sense.

Instead, let t=1 sec.    Then h(1 sec) = h(t) = [6 + 96(1) - 16(1)^2] feet
                                                                     =[6 + 96 -16] ft, or 86 ft.

One sec after the ball is thrown upward, it reaches a height of 86 feet.  It continues to rise, slowing down, until it finally stops for an instant and then begins to fall towards earth.

Y = (x) = (1/16)^x<br> Find f(x) when x = (1/4)
Naddik [55]

Answer:

1/2

Step-by-step explanation:

(1/16)^x

Let x = 1/4

(1/16)^ 1/4

Rewriting 16 as 2^4

(1/2^4)^ 1/4

We know that 1 / a^b = a^-b

(2 ^ -4)^ 1/4

We know that a^b^c = a^(b*c)

2^(-4*1/4)

2^-1

We know that  a^-b = 1/ a^b

2^-1 = 1/2^1 = 1/2
