In cellular respiration there are reactions of breaking bonds between molecules releasing energy. It can be performed in two ways: aerobic respiration (in the presence of oxygen from the environment) and anaerobic respiration (without oxygen).

Most living things use this process to get energy for their activities. Through aerobic respiration is broken down the glucose molecule, produced in photosynthesis by producer organisms and obtained through food by consumers.
