The Lushootseed people lived for milenia, where Olympia was then located. This because of how good this area was for fishing.

When the new-comers arrived, the great fishing was also one of the atractives they saw in this area. Another thing that attracted them was the possiblity to eventually use the Tumwater Falls as a source of energy (water-power)

But the main reason why this area was chosen was the great location it had, north to important trade routes. It allowed for great water access movility on a regional level all across Puget Sound and beyond. It is important to mention the importance water transportation had in those times since it was easier.

Answer:

Option: They found water access to Puget Sound.

Explanation:

Olympia was a  home of the Native Americans in America. Olympia was home to Lushootseed speaking people for many years before the arrival of the European settlers in America. Olympia was an area for food gathering for the different native tribes in America as they call it as a 'place of the bear'.

The settlers decided to settle in Olympia because of its water access, it provided shellfish, salmon and trade from the waterway in this area.

Olympia served as a shipping port for materials produced here including agricultural products, sandstone, coal, wooden products.
