Answer : The mass of CO_2 used are 8.8 grams.

Solution : Given,

Mass of O_2 = 6.5 g

Molar mass of O_2 = 32 g/mole

Molar mass of CO_2 = 44 g

First we have to calculate the moles of O_2.

\text{ Moles of }O_2=\frac{\text{ Mass of }O_2}{\text{ Molar mass of }O_2}=\frac{6.5g}{32g/mole}=0.20moles

Now we have to calculate the moles of CO_2

The balanced chemical reaction is,

CO_2\rightarrow C+O_2

From the balanced reaction we conclude that

As, 1 mole of O_2 produced from 1 mole of CO_2

So, 0.20 mole of O_2 produced from 0.20 mole of CO_2

Now we have to calculate the mass of CO_2

\text{ Mass of }CO_2=\text{ Moles of }CO_2\times \text{ Molar mass of }CO_2

\text{ Mass of }CO_2=(0.20moles)\times (44g/mole)=8.8g

Therefore, the mass of CO_2 used are 8.8 grams.

The equation tells you that 2 mol CO2 are used when 3 mol O2 are produced.
You produce 8.5g O21
Molar mass O2 = 32g/mol
mol O2 in 8.5g = 8.5/32 = 0.2656 mol O2
This will require 0.2656*2/3 = 0.1771 mol CO2 is used
Molar mass CO2 = 44g/mol
Mass of 0.1771 mol CO2 = 0.1771*44 = 7.792 g CO2 used
Answer correct to 2 significant figures = 7.8g CO2 used.

the recommended adult dose of Elixophyllin ® , a drug used to treat asthma, is 6.00 mg/kg of body mass. Calculate the dose in mi
Paladinen [302]

Answer:

\boxed{\text{452 mg}}

Explanation:

(a) Convert pounds to kilograms.

\text{Mass} = \text{ 166 lb} \times \dfrac{\text{453.59 g}}{\text{1 lb}} \times\dfrac{\text{1 kg}}{\text{1000 g}} = \text{75.30 kg}

(b) Calculate the dose

\text{Dose} = \text{ 75.30 kg body mass} \times \dfrac{\text{6.00 mg Elixophyllin}}{\text{1 kg body mass}} = \textbf{452 mg Elixophyllin}\\\text{The dose of Elixophyllin for a 166 lb person is $\boxed{\textbf{452 mg}}$}

Which best describes the effect of J. J. Thomson’s discovery?
worty [1.4K]

Answer:

A. The accepted model of the atom was changed.

Explanation:

Thomson described an atom that has the protons uniformly distributed within a circular atom with the electrons embedded . However, it cannot explain the emission of electrons from the surfaces of metals like photoelectric emission. it does not explain how the particle of the atom contribute significantly to the entire mass of an atom

Hess’s law
Delvig [45]

From the statement of Hess' law, the enthalpy of the reaction A---> C is +90 kJ

<h3>What is Hess' law?</h3>

Hess' law of constant heat summation states that for a multistep reaction, the standard enthalpy of reaction is always constant and is independent of the pathway or intermediate routes taken.

From Hess' law, the enthalpy change for the reaction A ----> C is calculated as follows:

A---> C = A ---> B + B ---> C

ΔH of A---> C = 30 kJ + 60 kJ

ΔH = 90 kJ

Therefore, the enthalpy of the reaction A---> C is +90 kJ

The above reaction A---> C can be shown in the enthalpy diagram below:

A -------------------> C (ΔH = +90 kJ)

\ /

\ / (ΔH = +60 kJ)

(ΔH = +30 J) \ /

> B
