Luda [366]
Answer: C. Each new state created from the
territory could determine its own level of
religious freedom.
The Northwest Ordinance (1787) created a new
government for the Northwest Territory. It also
outlined a plan that was later used for the
country to expand to the Pacific.
The text had three main provisions: the division
of the Northwest Territory into not less than
three nor more than five states, a method for
admitting a new state to the Union, and a bill of
rights protecting religious freedom, habeas
corpus, trial by jury, and other individual rights.

In what way was the life of an indentured servant different from that of a slave?
lozanna [386]
Well first, indentured servants were freed or released. They worked for an agreed upon amount of time and then they were released. Slaves were forced to work until the master felt so.

Next, indentured servants were housed and fed and clothed. They ate what their master ate and slept in his house sometimes. They were given a free passage to the New World in return for their work. Slaves slept in shacks, were barely fed, and never paid.
