Since most of these are mixed number you have to convert them into improper fractions.
For an example 2 3/4 x 1/2
First you would have the convert 2 3/4
You would add 2 to 3 then multiply 2 to 4
So it would be (2x4) + 3
You keep the denominator of the originally fraction so it would be 11/4
Then to finish you would multiply straight across so
11x1= 11
4x2=8
11/8
1 3/8
Hope this helps!!

Max w = 5y1 + 3y2<br> s. a.<br> y1 + y2 ≤ 50<br> 2y1 + 3y2 ≤ 60<br> y1<br> , y2 ≥ 0
CaHeK987 [17]

The maximum value of the objective function is 330

<h3>How to maximize the objective function?</h3>

The given parameters are:

Max w = 5y₁ + 3y₂

Subject to

y₁ + y₂ ≤ 50

2y₁ + 3y₂ ≤ 60

y₁ , y₂ ≥ 0

Start by plotting the graph of the constraints (see attachment)

From the attached graph, we have:

(y₁ , y₂) = (90, -40)

Substitute (y₁ , y₂) = (90, -40) in w = 5y₁ + 3y₂

w = 5 * 90 - 3 * 40

Evaluate

w = 330

Hence, the maximum value of the function is 330

Calculate the average rate of change of f(x) = 1 x - x2 - 2 for 3 ≤ x ≤ 6. A) -163 18 B) -18 163 C) 163 18 D) 18 163
larisa86 [58]
To solve this we are going to use the average rate of change formula: A(x)= \frac{f(b)-f(a)}{b-a}
where
A(x) is the average rate of change of the function
f(a) is the position function evaluated at a
f(b) is the position function evaluated at b
a is the first point in the interval
b is the second point in the interval

We can infer for our problem that the first point is 3 and the second point is 6, so a=3 and b=6. Lets replace those values in our formula:
A(x)= \frac{f(b)-f(a)}{b-a}
A(x)= \frac{f(6)-f(3)}{6-3}
A(x)= \frac{6-6^2-2-(3-3^2-2)}{3}
A(x)= \frac{-32-(-8)}{3}
A(x)= \frac{-32+8}{3}
A(x)= \frac{-24}{3}
A(x)=-8

We can conclude that the average rate of change of the function f(x) = 1 x - x2 - 2 for <span>3 ≤ x ≤ 6 is -8</span>
