first of all you add all of the ratios together so it would be 1+3+5 That equals 9 then divide 72 by 9 which gets you 8. Then you times 8 by all of the ratios to get the answer 8:24:40

The answer is 8:24:40 ... 1+3+8=9 72/9=8 and than 1*8=8 , 3*8=24 , 5*8=40

Write an equation in slope-intercept form for the line that passes through the given point and is parallel to the graph of the g
Fiesta28 [93]
Parallel lines have equal slopes. so the equation y=-4x+5.has slope of -4 because this is in slope intercept form y=mx+b where m is slope.

so we know a parallel line will have slope -4

we have a point on the line so we will use point slope formula to solve.
y-y1=m(x-x1) where (x1,y1) is point on line
so we get
y-4=-4(x-0) to put in slope intercept form we solve for y
y-4=-4x
y=-4x+4 is an equation of a line parallel to y=-4+5 passing through (0,4)

Find f'(x) if f(x) = (2/(x^1/3)) + 3 cos x + x^pi
galben [10]

The derivative of f is

f'(x)=\left(2x^{-1/3}+3\cos x+x^\pi\right)'

f'(x)=\left(2x^{-1/3}\right)'+(3\cos x)'+\left(x^\pi\right)'

By the power rule,

f'(x)=-\dfrac23x^{-4/3}+(3\cos x)'+\pi x^{\pi-1}

The derivative of \cos x is -\sin x:

f'(x)=-\dfrac23x^{-4/3}-3\sin x+\pi x^{\pi-1}
