Transcendentalists= hipsters. They were nonconformists who wanted to get closer to nature. It gave way for new religions and a greater movement of creativity with people. It revived the arts in America and created an AMERICAN culture. 
<span>Prior to the movement we were still pretty much seen as British, but with this we created books and established out own place.</span>
