Answer:

since the usa and soviet liked to test their atomic bombs they decided to go against eachother. Relations between the Soviet Union and the United States were driven by a complex interplay of ideological, political, and economic factors, which led to shifts between cautious cooperation and often bitter superpower rivalry over the years. it prevented them from reaching a mutual understanding on key policy issues and even, as in the case of the Cuban missile crisis, brought them to the brink of war. The Soviet regime proclaimed a policy of détente and sought increased economic cooperation and disarmament negotiations with the West. These tensions continued to exist until the dramatic democratic changes of 1989–91 led to the collapse during this past year of the Communist system and opened the way for an unprecedented new friendship between the United States and Russia, as well as the other new nations of the former Soviet Union.

skelet666 [1.2K]

Answer:

Lots of change.

Explanation:

Punishments that occurred in the Middle Ages were much harsher and aimed more towards violence and torture, rather than peaceful conflict resolution. Our technologies have progressed much beyond the punishments of the Middle Ages, but our society has introduced more laws and regulations.

How did the klan change in the 1920's under William Joseph Simmons
Georgia [21]

Answer:

after seeing d.w. griffith's film birth of a nation simmons revived the klan.

Explanation:

in his first official act, he climbed to the top of a local mountain and set a cross on fire to mark the "rebirth" of the klan. simmons moved beyond targeting not just african americans, but catholics, jews, and foreigners too. he also promoted fundamentalism and devout patriotism with advocating white supremacy. lastly, the klan started to attack the elite, urbanites, and intellectuals as well to appeal to rural folk. by the 1920s, the klan balooned from three million to as high as eight million klansmen.
