In simple words, Hierarchy is the separate level. Each level has a complex structured set of principles. After reaching a certain level in a hierarchy, the things are moved to the next level of the hierarchy. With the increase in the level of hierarchy, the structure of principles gets more complex. For example if we take the example of an organization with the hierarchical structure, if we move towards the upper level of hierarchy, the structure gets complex. That is why the top management has more mental complex work to do. Similarly hierarchy can be observed in other things as well which is best explained by Maslow who says that a person has some basic needs which is one level of hierarchy and after achieving that level, he moves towards the more complex level in the hierarchy to achieve other needs as well. So the principle of hierarchy is the structured complex set of rules.
